Gavin has been Head of Scenic Art at the National Theatre for 14 years, previously serving as Deputy Head. He led the studio’s transition to water-based products, prioritising artist welfare and reducing toxic materials.

Aligned with the Theatre Green Book, he integrates safer and more sustainable practices, collaborating with suppliers such as Flints and Graphenstone to develop innovative materials and champion environmentally responsible scenic production.
