Liz is a textile artist at the National Theatre and a committed allotmenteer, gardener and textile upcycler (and formerly a Skip Sister), her passion for plants and sustainability has spilled over into her work life where she is part of a dye garden project.
She is currently researching and experimenting with natural dyes with the aim of producing dyes and effects as naturally as possible. So far this has involved making leather dyes, documenting the changing colour yields as the seasons change and using food waste from the staff canteen to dye costumes.
Using the NTs home grown plants to dye a costume makes her a very happy gardener!
