Paul Galloway’s career began in his grandfather’s shed in Liverpool, where an early fascination with making quickly evolved into a formal carpentry and joinery apprenticeship. With a solid grounding in craft and construction, he went on to expand his creative skillset, studying graphic design in Wigan before moving to Bristol to complete a degree in 3D Design.
Based in a city with strong ties to film and television, Paul naturally progressed into art direction and production design. He spent several years at Aardman Animation, designing and art directing commercials, alongside work for the BBC on docudramas. He also returned to Liverpool for a two-year stint on Hollyoaks, further developing his experience in television production.
Driven by a passion for creating original work, Paul co-created the children’s TV series Bottom Knocker Street, which was commissioned by CiTV for 52 episodes. As production designer, he brought the entire world of the show to life, marking a significant milestone in his career.
In 2015, Paul joined Amalgam, where he project and account managed across exhibitions, display, and film and television projects. After six years, he transitioned to freelance work in 2021, returning to the wider film and TV industry with a focus on construction management.
Today, Paul works as a Construction Manager across a range of high-profile productions, including I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, collaborating with companies such as Supersets and alongside production designer Michael Ralph on Christmas Karma (2025). He is currently part of the team at Johnny Mann Scenic Ltd, working between Bristol and Gloucester, where he continues to build a reputation for combining hands-on craft, design insight, and leadership across complex scenic projects.
At the heart of Paul’s work is a lifelong commitment to making – bringing together practical skill, creative thinking, and a collaborative approach to deliver ambitious work across screen and live environments.
