Stéphane Collonge is a French-born production designer based in the United Kingdom, working across film and television.
His work is known for its psychologically grounded approach to environments and character space, exploring how production design can deepen narrative and emotional context.
Collonge has collaborated with a wide range of directors across British and international productions. His long-standing creative partnership with Joanna Hogg includes all of her feature films, among them Unrelated, Archipelago, Exhibition, The Souvenir, The Souvenir Part II and The Eternal Daughter.
His production design for The Souvenir Part II received the British Independent Film Award for Best Production Design.
Other notable credits include God’s Own Country, Ali & Ava and My Brother the Devil. More recent work includes the Netflix feature Scoop and the comedy series Man vs Baby, directed by David Kerr.
Alongside his film work, Collonge is increasingly engaged in exploring production design methodologies that support more efficient and sustainable workflows. Through the use of previsualisation and construction-led visual planning, his practice looks at how early design integration can optimise collaboration between Art Department and construction teams, helping reduce over-build while supporting more sustainable production practices.
He is a member of the British Film Designers Guild.
